About The Yau (HSM) AwardsٍFor Overseas٩

Funded by John Templeton Foundation and Taikang Life Insurance, the Yau High School Mathematics Awards, or YHMA, is established to encourage high school students to participate in project-based competition in mathematical sciences. This webpage provides interested students, parents, school teachers, and university professors outside Greater China with information and guidance to be successful participants. Advisors are available to assist participating teams to initiate their projects. If needed, we also could assist enrolled teams to identify college professors to guide them to complete their projects.

To receive maximum guidance, interested students should submit their ˇ°intent to participateˇ± no later than June 15, 2008. A regional presentation will take place on September 20 (Saturday), 2008 in Los Angeles. Winners in this competition will be recommended to compete with winners from other regions in Oct 2008 in Beijing for the Yau (HSM) awards.

This competition accepts projects concurrently submitted to other competitions, such a county fair, state-wide, national or international competition.
