About The Yau Awards
Funded by John Templeton Foundation and Taikang Life Insurance, the Yau High School Mathematics Awards, or YHMA, was established in 2008 to encourage high school students worldwide to participate in project-based competition in mathematical sciences. 2012 is the fifth year for this program. This webpage provides interested students, parents, school teachers, and university professors outside Greater China with information and guidance to be successful participants for the 2012 competition. To receive maximum guidance, interested students should submit their ˇ°intent to participateˇ± no later than July 31, 2012. Project reports are due on August 31, 2012. A regional presentations will take place in November 2012 in Los Angeles. Winners in this competition will potentially be recommended to compete with winners from other regions in December 2012 in Beijing for the awards. This competition accepts projects concurrently submitted to other competitions, such a county fair, state-wide, national or international competition.
